Richard Love, BA

Retired Detective Richard Love had been employed as a police detective for the City of Fort Lauderdale Police Department for the past 25 years. For 23 years, he was assigned to the Special Investigations Division, investigating major narcotic trafficking, gambling, extortion, prostitution, and racketeering cases. In 1998, he was assigned to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) investigating Internet crimes against children. For 5.5 years he was employed as a consultant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Crimes Against Children Unit in Miami, Florida. In 1999, he received an award from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for his online investigative work. In 2001, he was named the Law Enforcement Against Child Harm (LEACH) Investigator of the year, and the United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Florida Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the year. He has also received an award from Robert Muller III Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for his undercover work in a Group 1 operation targeting individuals requesting the sexual services of children in and outside the United States.He had instructed in the ICAC Program and now lectures across the country at Crimes Against Children Conferences and CAC's. He currently is a course coordinator and in development of training for the National Criminal Justice Training Center and Fox Valley Technical College and facilitates a Multi-Disciplinary Team Child Sex Trafficking program along with webinar subject development. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Psychology from Saint Joseph’s Calumet College in Indiana.
