Hidden Biases Of Good People: Implications For Child Advocacy Professionals And The Communities They Serve

Reverend Dr. Bryant T. Marks, Sr., founder and Chief Equity Officer of the National Training Institute on Race and Equity and a tenured professor of Psychology at Morehouse College, will deliver the keynote address, discussing implicit bias and how it impacts child abuse response and prevention.

Implicit bias involves stereotyping, prejudice, and/or discrimination below conscious awareness in a manner that typically benefits oneself or one’s group. We all have biases. This engaging presentation will describe the causes, consequences, and measurement of implicit bias as well as potential solutions for minimizing its impact.
